Last Wednesday, I had the pleasure of speaking with the Eileen Fisher organization on the topic of empowering women's voices.
Empowering Women's Voices

You can access the recording of the session by clicking on the photo. I start speaking at 10 minutes in. Unfortunately, the Q. and A. was not recorded, which, in my opinion, was the best part! Oh well. ;)
Here are a few of the topics discussed. They cover some of the issues I address in my 1-hour, 2-hour, 1-day and 2-day workshops.
1. Women tend to focus their vocal energy/speak more from their heads, mouths and faces, while men tend to speak more from their chests.
2. The chest is the largest resonating space, so by not opening up and using this space, women are not harnessing the full power of their voice. Also, many women tend to make even the spaces in their mouths and throats smaller, creating a less full, resonant sound. This can diminish impact, as well as credibility.
3. Increasing awareness for habitual speaking patterns that no longer (or never did) serve you, and that contradict who you are now and who you are becoming.
4. With a greater understanding of voice and its incredible malleability, you are better able to shape the voice(s) that express your thoughts and feelings effectively and the image and self you wish to be presenting to the world.
5. Finding the right voice for the job.
*If you think your company or team would enjoy and benefit from a workshop or talk on the subject of empowering women's voices, connect with me here or through my website. I'd be happy to discuss!
Other workshops I offer include:
1. How To Make Your Voice Your Super Power
2. Speak English Like You Own It! (For non-native speakers of English)
3. Creating Your Unique Executive Presence
This next class will be held on Friday, October 7 at 1:30 pm*
It is part of a subscription, but if it is your first time, it is free.
When you attend, you receive: a relevant voice/speech exercise (different each time); practice and feedback on the skills you are working on; and follow-up notes and exercises done in the session. I may also send you relevant material and more exercises specific to your unique needs.
Subscribers receive all this, plus access to the recordings. AND, when you subscribe, you receive a VERY reduced price on 1:1 sessions, which you can schedule any time.
For more information on subscriptions, click here or contact me directly.
Hope you all have a wonderful final week of September! 🍂

3. Only two English words in current use end in "-gry". They are "angry" and "hungry".
4. The word "bookkeeper" (along with its associate "bookkeeping") is the only unhyphenated English word with three consecutive double letters. Other such words, like "sweet-toothed", require a hyphen to be readily readable.

6. The word "uncopyrightable" is the longest English word in normal use that contains no letter more than once.
