Happy Monday,

Thank you to those who were able to join us last week for the 2022 Fall Conference. It was wonderful to see so many friendly faces, and I heard many good things about the sessions you attended. A conference survey will be hitting your inboxes this week, so please be sure to fill that out – we are especially interested in your thoughts on the Monday-Thursday schedule vs the Tuesday-Friday. Team MASA takes your feedback seriously, so please take the time to share your thoughts.

MDE Memos and Reminders

MEMO #088-22
Pupil Membership Count Period

The topic of “count day” was previously addressed in an August 25, 2022, memorandum. However, some misunderstanding remains when count day falls on a major religious holiday. When the count day falls on a religious holiday, such as it does for Yom Kippur this year, districts have the option to develop their school calendars accordingly to prevent the conflict.
