CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

Building 2 (808 Windsor St.)

808 Windsor reached a significant milestone this month with two tower cranes fully mobilized and working on site. Work also continued on the building’s utilities, installing underground plumbing, electrical and telecommunications. The concrete slab on grade is complete at the lowest level of the garage, with structural steel erection underway and concrete slabs on deck being placed later this month as the building begins to take shape.

Building 3

As part of site prep for Boynton Yards' third lab building, underground utility work continues with the installation of new separated sewer and storm drain services (replacing the existing combined sewer/drain), in addition to new water and electrical services, to enable a projected construction start date in late 2023. We continue to #buildthefuture!

WE'RE COMMUNITY DRIVEN

On Sept. 23, we welcomed Somerville’s City Planning Department for a tour of Boynton Yards and a rooftop view from 101 South. Thank you to Somerville’s Director of Economic Development Tom Galligani and Director of Planning and Zoning Sarah Lewis for sharing the progress at Boynton Yards with City staff.

FIREFLY NOW OPEN AT 101 SOUTH

Firefly – 101 South’s latest completed ACE (Arts & Creative Enterprise) space – offers 2,100 square feet of multi-use workspace, a café and future art gallery open to all. Grab & go or stay & work Mon-Fri from 7:30 am-3:30 pm with sandwiches, salads and smoothies by Flik. Firefly is also the exclusive outpost of Twin Bee Coffee, offering Burundi coffees locally while supporting direct trade partnerships to empower growers, encourage gender equity and build self-sustaining communities.

THE HIVE IS BUZZING

A big welcome to Parts and Crafts, our newest tenant at The Hive (our happening ACE building at 561 Windsor). Parts and Crafts is an educational nonprofit that provides programming for kids 7-13 focused on “creating, making, inventing, building, questioning and discovering,” according to Dina Gjertsen, one of three co-directors. Day and after-school programs now available on site.

FREE YOGA ON THE GREEN

Strike a pose at our FREE yoga classes now open to all on Saturdays, Oct. 15 and 22, 9:30-10:30 am on our 101 South Green. Registration encouraged but not required. BYOM (bring your own mat) and commit to wellness.

Oktoberfest returns to Boynton Yards on Saturday, Oct. 22 from 11 am-5 pm at 0 Windsor Place. FREE, outdoors and open to all along with...
