SOS 4th Annual Recovery Rally-- a HUGE success!

On Saturday September 10th the recovery community from near and far gathered in Henry Law Park, Dover NH, for our 4th annual Recovery Rally. Although this year's rally echoed similar themes from rallies past, this year's event was bigger & better than ever before! Similar to our past recovery rallies, this years 4th Annual Recovery Rally celebrated hope-- hope for people in recovery, hope for people who use drugs, hope for family members, and hope for the entire community. This year's rally featured a variety of speakers, including Hope on Haven Hill's Executive Director Kerry Norton, Black Lives Matter Seacoast's Kevin Pajaro-Marinez, Senator Maggie Hassan, and State Representative Chris Pappas. Entertainment continued on throughout the day with performances by The Block Collaborative Dance Group, Wildlife Encounters, and Forever FRESH. We had a variety of food options from Nommmunism, The Big Bad Food Truck, and Red's Good Vibes-- everyone was serving up a variety of different food, from steak and cheese, to BBQ, to vegan pastries. The fun didn't stop there! With over 30 exhibitors from harm reduction, to a variety of different treatment options, to multiple recovery pathways, and even prevention, there truly was representation from across the continuum of care and plenty of resources available for the public. We were truly amazed by the number of community members that showed up to celebrate recovery during our 4th Annual Recovery Rally! We cannot wait to continue growing the celebration next year for our 5th Annual Recovery Rally in celebration of National Recovery Month-- we will see you there!!!

A special thanks to our 4th Annual Recovery Rally Sponsors!

The celebration would not have been possible without your support-- thank you again!

September Recovery Month Celebration Continues!

The City of Dover and Dover Public Library with their Recovery Month Flags
The City of Somersworth and Hope for New Hampshire's Recovery Month Flags
Hosting our annual recovery rally isn't the only annual event SOS takes part in every September in recognition of National Recovery Month-- we also celebrated our third year of disseminating National Recovery Month flags, in partnership with our friends at Recovery Friendly Workplace, to a variety of our community partners and local businesses to show support for their local recovery community! Flying these flags truly helps combat stigma surrounding substance use disorder by heightening visibility & broadcasting positive messaging surrounding recovery. Thank you to our partners!

Thank you to the Jenna M Pellegrini Memorial Softball Tournament for your donation!

The  yearly support we receive from the Jenna M Pellegrini Memorial Softball Tournament means so much to us, as we have several staff and community members that were friends with Jenna, and to receive support in her honor is absolutely humbling. A special thanks to Mike and to all who support the annual softball tournament & continue honoring Jenna!

Welcome to the team, Brittney!

Brittney is a person in long term recovery. She is passionate about painting, nature, and is an avid reader. She has a charismatic preschooler at home, as well as a loving Pitbull puppy. She attended SOS over 6 years ago, utilizing their resources and finding recovery connections in her community through SOS's centers. She’s currently working towards her CRSW with hopes of becoming a LADC. She has navigated multiple pathways in her personal experience with substance use and mental health struggles. Brittney works on our family recovery supports team and we feel lucky to have her! Stop in to our Rochester Center to meet her!
