Breakout Session Formats
Standard room setup for all session formats will include microphones, a podium, a head table, an LCD projector, and a screen.
Demonstration
This type of session works best if your primary objective is to provide an overview of a topic or approach. Select this delivery format if you want to showcase something you & your team have implemented, adapted, or created. This is a great way to tell your “it worked for us” story. You may have a maximum of three presenters for this session format.

Facilitated Discussion Presentation
An individual or small group will lead an interactive discussion or exercise for 75 minutes. Presenters should not "present" or lecture at the participants for more than 20% of the session. You may have a maximum of two facilitators for this session type.
Panel Presentation
A panel is a group of thematically linked presentations and a designated moderator.
These sessions are opportunities to share topics of interest, lessons learned, foresight, or evidence of impact. Each panelist will present for 20 minutes as one of two or three presenters. These co-presenters may be submitting this proposal with you or NCSS may recommend that you ‘team up’ with other presenters with a similar proposal.
The best panels and group presentations have diversity in perspectives as well as diversity of panelists—organizationally and demographically speaking. You may have a maximum of six presenters for this session type.

Selection Process
Proposals will be selected to ensure the 2023 SNTI offers a comprehensive, relevant, and diverse program. Proposals will be reviewed by members of the SNTI Content Planning Committee and peer reviewers using the following criteria:
- Relevance of Topic: Is the topic of relevance, importance, value, and/or interest to the START Network?
- Session Outcomes Achievability: Is there alignment between the stated session outcomes and the proposal description?
- Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Justice, & Belonging: Does the proposal show how the session will reflect or address diversity, equity, inclusion, justice and belonging (including subject matter, people of all identities, and demographic characteristics)?
