This week for me was all about regaining your power.
Sometimes you're made to feel small....whether by your own internal thought dialogue or by others around you...which then, of course, feeds the internal thought dialogue.
If you have been at all been feeling this way---small--then put on this shield.
I've been pairing it with the Alternate Nostril Breath (nadi shodhana). Or the imagined version of this breath/pranayama/energetic practice in order to calm the nervous system at the same time.
Sometimes we have to create our own shield. Try this one on and reply back and tell me how it makes you feel.
Mudra: Vaikhara (= Gesture of the Protective Shield). I think my new favorite. I'm going to wear it when I need to regain my power again to feel less small. This mudra is both settling and empowering.
Breath: Paced breath to start. Imagined Alternate Nostril Breath to finish---perfect breath practices to calm an anxious mind
Strong & Steady: "Upper Body & Core" 60min --You'll find some variations on upper body and core activating movements that we've done before, but perhaps not in this way. If you think you can't do this class. think again.....try it in standing....I'm always giving cues for those that don't want to get on the floor.
Chair Yoga: "Settle Your Nerves" 50min--Burn off that anxious energy and then settle in for some grounding poses, breath and mudra. Peak pose is Warrior III so you can find power and ease at once
Therapeutic Yoga: "Vata (Airy, Spacey, Anxious) Reduction Practice" 60min--We burn off that anxious energy and then settle in, hopefully leaving you with a less anxious mind.
