Paulina to Horse Butte shuttle last week was a hoot! Jump on the September 30 shuttle.

Happy Fall Everyone,

I hope y'all are taking the opportunity to get in some big rides this season!

Operations have been quieter then expected; in Bend we're keeping busy with after school CJC programs, fall skills sessions, big corporate outings and daily shuttles.

Smoke from the fire continues to affect Oakridge; but we've done this before and are getting better at managing operations. Send some clean air vibes to our Oakridge crew, they need it!

Here's what's in this newsletter:

  • Bike Fleet for Sale!
  • Nuts and Bolts: CJC Hoodies, Paulina Shuttle, LOGE discount
  • Cog in the Community: Trail work with COTA, end of season celebration.

Bike Fleet for Sale!

Cog Wild Employees have first dibs on buying a bike from the fleet. On October 5, we'll open bike sales to the public.  Bikes will be available to take home on October 26. Most of the bikes are 2020 to 2021 models, look them up on the Santa Cruz Website.

Here's what we have:

Nuts and bolts

  • CJC hoodie order: Doesn't a fuzzy new hoody sound perfect for fall? Use the code staff2022  for $30 off a hoodie (one free); order here. Submit orders by the end of Wednesday 9/28.
  • Paulina Shuttle : Jump on the Paulina shuttle on 9/30 and ride to Horse Butte! Conditions are prime. Take advantage of your employee benefit to get some fall adventure riding close to home with this shuttle or the daily Dutchman. How about a pick up in Sisters?
  • Discount for LOGE Bend Hotel : Here's a discount code to use in case you'd like to book a night at LOGE for yourself or visiting friends and family. Use the code COGWILD22 for 20% off the Best Available Rate. Offer valid on new reservations only and subject to availability.
See the area in the middle of the state with unhealthy air? That's been Oakridge for the past week. Back burns from the Cedar Creek fire continue to affect air quality. The air tends settle into the valley at night and early morning and clear out by the afternoon. So we're running a one van, afternoon shuttle schedule to limit rider's exposure to unhealthy air. Huge thanks to Brian for keeping Oakridge shuttle clients informed and on trail as conditions allow.

Cog in the Community

  • Trail Work Opportunity:
    • Rescheduled! Cog Wild is collaborating with COTA for an evening of trail work on Monday, October 10 from 4 to 6 PM. COTA will provide beverages post work. Meet at Cog at 3:30 to carpool to the worksite. RSVP via the google invitation.
  • Save the date for Cog Wild Employee Appreciation
    • Come celebrate a successful season with us the weekend of November 4 and 5 in Oakridge. The Schmid house is rented for us: We'll ride, forage mushrooms, do some trail work, eat good food, etc. Food and lodging are provided.  Details to come as we get closer.
