Get the most of your conference experience right from your mobile phone or tablet!

We are pleased to announce the release of the Conference Mobile App. You are encouraged to download the mobile app before next week, so you have time to review the schedule and familiarize yourself with the features. The app is free, easy to use, and packed with features designed for planning your personalized conference experience.

TOP 5 REASONS TO USE THE CONFERENCE MOBILE APP

  1. CREATE YOUR PERSONAL CONFERENCE SCHEDULE: Select which sessions you would like to attend to add to “My Agenda” and get notified before they begin. You can update your selections at any time.
  2. SHAKE & CONNECT: Click on the plus sign of another attendee to connect, and take advantage of the in-app messaging feature. When in-person, your soon-to-be buddy can simply tap the Shake button, then shake your devices to connect instantly!
  3. FIND YOUR WAY: Navigate the conference hotel like a pro and easily locate your sessions, events, and activities.
  4. STAY UP-TO-DATE AT ALL TIMES: Receive notifications and push alerts with need to know information about the conference so you don’t miss out on anything.
  5. CONNECT WITH SPONSORS & EXHIBITORS: Learn about our conference sponsors and see who will be exhibiting during Saturday’s Posters & Exhibitors session.

The Mansion that Became a Museum

Conference attendees now have the option of visiting one of the premier art collector's museums in the United States - the grand estate of heiress Marjorie Merriweather Post. The Hillwood Estate, Museum & Gardens sits on 25 acres of gardens and surrounding woodlands in northwest Washington, DC, overlooking Rock Creek Park. Twelve acres of gardens include a Japanese-style garden, a rose garden, and a French parterre. Please call or visit our website for museum hours and tour information.

You may purchase the self-guided tour when you arrive onsite at their Visitor Center. Just mention that you are part of the Fulbright conference, and you will receive a discounted ticket of $12 per person!

Hillwood is only a 20-minute drive, Uber, or cab ride from the conference hotel. There is also ample complimentary parking available onsite.

Film – “Fulbright: The Man, the Mission, and the Message”

Arkansas Senator J. William Fulbright founded the international exchange program that bears his name, but he also opposed landmark civil rights legislation.
To better understand his complex legacy, we invite you to view this respected documentary, produced by W. Drew Perkins in 2006, and then use the rest of the conference to discuss with friends and Fulbrighters.
We will provide a printed resource sheet with additional information and readings. All resources are included in the conference app under Friday’s “Schedule” > Film – “Fulbright: The Man, the Mission, and the Message”

Please be on the lookout for the Know Before You Go email, which will be sent early next week.

Thank you and we look forward to meeting you next week!
