HRP Visiting Fellow Conducts U.S. Country Visit for UN

HRP Senior Visiting Researcher and UN Independent Expert for Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (IE SOGI) Victor Madrigal-Borloz completed a 10-day visit investigating the state of LGBT rights in the USA in August. Having visited Washington DC, Birmingham, Miami and San Diego, the IE SOGI found that LGBT rights in the USA were under a "concerted attack".

Madrigal-Borloz stated: “I am deeply alarmed by a widespread, profoundly negative riptide created by deliberate actions to roll back the human rights of LGBT people at state level.” He further called upon the U.S. government to bolster its support for LGBT rights across the nation.
