September 18: Fundraiser BBQ - You're all invited to a fundraising BBQ featuring our very own Road Kill Grill and live entertainment from the SLO Strummers. Angie Salazar from Iglesia Santa Cruz will join us during worship to share information about ISC.

Monies from this fundraiser will be used to pay for an off-site storage unit for ISC. A Thirivent Action Team is available for online giving.
CLICK HERE for the Thrivent Team page.
Over the next few weeks we are creating a mural on the back wall of the sanctuary. The focus of this mural is leaves with photos of people who attend Mt. Carmel.

Have your photo taken by MaryAnn after church this Sunday. Can't make it this week? No Problem! We'll have opportunities for family pictures all month.

EXCITING NEWS!!!
The Women’s Retreat is back for 2022

Our speaker is Rev. Dr. Marjorie Funk-Pihl
Hopeful Frustration
We are in a moment
We are emotionally worn out and willing to admit it

Join us as we discover how to use our frustration to restore our hope

The cost per person will be available soon. Reminder – this is not just for Mt. Carmel! Any woman who could use some time away to gather energy and fellowship is welcome. We need to know who is interested, so we can calculate the actual cost. We’ll have a meeting to organize carpools and select roommates, (there are 2 ladies per room and 6 meals included.) Contact Nancy Priddy to let her know you’re interested in attending, or for more information.

Adult Forums for this fall will begin in the sanctuary on September 25 with a Town Hall discussion of events and plans by the Church Council.

Adult Forums will continue in Quist Hall with the following schedule (subject to change):
October 2 – Ministry Fair – Info and a chance to join in on our Ministry Teams
October 9 -  “Do It Yourself Creation” Bible study based on the Creation story from Genesis Chapters One-Two-Three.
October 16 – “Do It Yourself Creation’ Bible study continued.
October 24 – Presentation on the Senior Housing Project progress with Hosts Ryan McKinley - President, and Marty Fuller - Construction Superintendant of McKinley Construction. Plans include a walking tour of the project.
October 30 – Reformation Day Bible Study

The Adult Education Team is recruiting congregation members interested in helping plan the Adult Forum topics for the year. If you are interested,  please contact Bob Grosse, Adult Ed Team leader.
At the June 2022 Annual Meeting, our congregation approved a commitment to raise $40,000 in addition to the proposed budget to complete necessary repairs and improvements to our roofing, landscape, and drainage issues. “Cover The Roof” has been adopted as the fundraiser slogan and is ready to begin.

Watch this space in the Vistas for information concerning this fundraising project. To kick off the project, members of the council and the planning team have already committed to pledges of $15,700, leaving a balance of at least $24,300 to be raised elsewhere. All members of the congregation are being asked for their support in addition to your normal giving.

To contribute by check, make a note of “Facility Repairs” on the memo line. If you make your contributions by credit card or by E-checks let the Financial Secretary, Carol Grosse,
cgrosse@charter.net know that your donation is for the fund raising project.

Two pastors present their belief in eternal salvation for all through God′s perfect grace. Long disturbed by the Church′s struggle between offering both love and rejection, they discover what God wants from us and for us: grace for everyone.
