Postcards on Wednesday - We're writing for Emily Randall
We meet in person upstairs at the T&C on Winslow Way, Wednesdays, 2 pm to 3:30 pm. You can stay and write or take cards home and return them the next week. Can't make it to Postcards on Wednesday? Pick up postcards from Holly's front porch and email Kathy for the script.

We're now writing for our sister district's Emily Randall, State Senator for LD 26 (Bremerton to Gig Harbor). Emily surprised everyone in 2018 when she won her first term as State Senator by 104 votes.

It's no surprise that Emily has been an excellent state senator. She introduced 35 bills in the last session (2021-2022) of our state legislature and got 14 of the passed and signed by Gov. Inslee. That doesn't count the bills for which she was the secondary sponsor.

Her main focus has been education and healthcare, but she also got the toll on the Tacoma Narrows Bridge lowered. Here is a list of the 14 bills she got passed, as well as the "accomplishments" of her opponent, Jesse Young, when he was a state representative in the 2021-2022 session.

Writing for Emily is exceptionally easy. You don't have to address the card. Just pick up some "Donut Forget to Vote" postcards, write the message, afix a stamp and return the cards to Postcards on Wednesday or to Holly's front porch. We'll return the cards to Emily's campaign and volunteers will add an address label and mail them in mid-October.

At this moment, Democrats control the Washington state senate by just six seats. Several Democratic senators decided to retire this year, leaving their seats open. Attacking the U.S. Capitol has energized the MAGA GOP and there are plenty of them in our state. If just a few seats flip, all the good work Democrats have done since they took the majority in the legislature just five years ago will come to a halt. That's why members of Indivisible Bainbridge Island have been working so hard for Emily Randall. She's good and we need her.

Note: If you've still got postcards for Kim Schrier or Adam Gray, please finish them up and return them to Holly's front porch or at Postcards for Wednesday ASAP!

How our postcard program works.

If you can't write postcards but want to help with the cost of postcards and stamps so that others can write, please email Kathy or drop off money for stamps at Holly's house. Postcard stamps have gone up to 44 cents each. We could really use the help!
