“Momentum matters.  Democrats have it. The DOJ has it.  When momentum is on your side, that is the time to push harder, move faster, and do more.”

-Robert Hubbell (Lawyer, writer, blogger, newsletter writer in his 9/9/22 subscriber letter)

We apologize for the format issues with our newsletter this week.  Time is of the essence, and we want to get this to you asap.

                                   Our Next Action Evening

Tuesday, September 20

As previously announced, we’re holding our next Action Evening on Tuesday, September 20. We’ll meet at the Central Congregational Church on Titcomb Street in Newburyport, where we are partnering with the Newburyport Democratic City Committee to take actions for some of our local and state candidates and for elections in battleground states.

Here’s the plan, and you are welcome to come for all or part of the evening:

5:00-6:00, We’re holding a mini-canvass for Dawne Shand’s campaign, knocking on doors for an hour within Newburyport. If you are a newcomer to canvassing, we’ll pair you up with a more experienced canvasser to get you started on this most impactful campaign tactic.

6:00-6:30, Join us for a light dinner.

6:30-8:00, Choose your actions, including writing postcards, texting and phone banking. We’ll have training, as always. We’ll also have options to help with local, state and national elections and will explain what’s in store for these less than two critical months before the elections.

RSVPs are not required but we’d much appreciate hearing from you at indivisible.rise.newburyport@gmail.com  if you plan to attend, especially if you will join us for dinner.

                      Upcoming Actions

Direct Mail Campaign

Fri. 9/16 or next Mon, Tues or Wed (9/19, 9/20, 9/21)

US Senator Maggie Hassan's campaign is seeking two hour volunteer shifts at Journeyman Press at 11 Malcolm Hoyt Drive in Newburyport to help get out lots of direct mail. This is both easy work--moving rolling bins around or making sure mail pieces don't fall off the print line--and very important for the campaign, as it saves significant mailing costs that can then be used for other persuasion efforts. Sign up here. Email Kevin Bowe at kbowe@kbowe.com or Chloe Singer at csinger@organizenh.org with questions.

Let’s support and vote in Dawne Shand in the 1st Essex District, Kristin Kassner in the 2nd Essex, and Adrianne Ramos in the 14th; and re-elect proven climate champion, Tram Nguyen in the 18th Essex District.

These candidates will fight for clean air, clean water, green energy (and jobs), and environmental justice.  Please RSVP here, or email Christina@votetram.com to donate and reserve your spot. We will send you the address with the confirmation.
