National Day of Mourning

In observation of the National Day of Mourning for Queen Elizabeth II, NVDPL will be adjusting services on Monday, September 19th.

Lynn Valley Library and Parkgate Library are OPEN for learning, reflection, and connection, from 10:00am-5:00pm.

Capilano and Lions Gate Express libraries will be CLOSED.

Book Launch and Birthday

Glenn Gould would have turned 90 this September. On September 22, celebrate with the creators of As Glenn As Can Be, a new picture book about the early life of the famous Canadian musician.

Author Sarah Ellis and illustrator Nancy Vo will talk about bringing the book to life, and local pianists will share some music. This program will be of interest to ages six and up, especially music students, Gould appreciators, picture book fans, and anyone who knows what they like and finds their own way in the world! Learn more.

Meet a Truck!

Meet your favourite trucks up close at Parkgate Library!

On September 21, enjoy a story and songs at 10:30am, and meet the community workers who drive the trucks all around our neighbourhoods. Trucks are subject to availability, but may include a street sweeper, snow plow/salter, garbage truck, or a Vactor (utilities suction truck). Learn more.
