Commit to Keiki Collecting Stories from Businesses Across the State - Would You Like to Participate?

The Commit to Keiki initiative is learning and re-sharing stories of families and communities regarding their experience of raising young children, which we will build into a strong case for more government action. The initiative is interested in the stories of new parents figuring things out, parents raising kids with special needs, single parents, grandparents, childcare workers, employers and anyone who has a story they want to share with the next Governor about raising young keiki in Hawaii.
We are asking families to record their story via video, which will be shared via the Commit to Keiki website, social media, YouTube pages, and email to candidates and supporters of this effort. Before posting, we will share the video back with you for review.
In a short video taken in portrait mode, you are talking directly to the politicians and decision makers of Hawaii.
- Briefly introduce yourself and a little about your family/business
- Share something that has been a struggle for you, your young children, your business and/or your family
- Tell the decision makers what you need from them… what would have helped you in your struggle?
We are collecting stories from across Hawaii—stories of struggles with childcare, making ends meet, health care, mental health, domestic violence and more. Through the 2022 election and beyond, we will do our best to make sure that your story is not forgotten.

UHCC's Hana Career Pathways Extending its Subsidized Technology Certification Programs
|
|
|
University of Hawaii Community Colleges (UHCC) is extending its Hana Career Pathways subsidized training program with new technology courses for fall 2022.
Eligible Hawaii residents are able to get up to 100% tuition assistance for IT training programs that lead directly to new industry-recognized certifications such as Network+, Security+, AWS Cloud Foundations, Project Management Professional and more. Employers are encouraged to consider offering this training to incumbent workers as a way to upskill your current workforce. Subsidized training programs are also available in healthcare and skilled trades. Visit UHCC’s Hana Career Pathways website to learn more and apply.
Local employers and technology professionals: Scheduling future dates for these highly valuable certification programs is dependent on the number of instructors able to teach these courses.
