From science to arts and crafts, the Mountain Monarch Festival promises activities and special interests for all! With kid's crafts and activities, native plants, live music, Here's the Deal food truck, and local vendors, there is ample opportunity to let your creative side run free while building community. 

Send the kid's off on a scavenger hunt, grab some food, and kick back listening to live music on the porch overlooking our mountains. The Mountain Monarch Festival is here for YOU!

Do you know what plants attract native pollinators like the Monarch Butterfly? Find out more about which native plants you can cultivate to encourage sustainable, pollinator-friendly communities outside your home!

Face Painting

Express yourself with some face paint provided by Chelsea Cronkrite! Chelsea is a local photographer and artist. We are excited for the color she is sure to add to your cheeks at the Mountain Monarch Festival!

Local Vendors

Explore local artisans and meet professionals across different disciplines at their vendor booths. The Mountain Monarch Festival is a great opportunity to grow in community together!

Live Music Provided by

Hawk Mountain with Collin Cheek


Have a sit on the porch at the Visitor Center and enjoy live music from Hawk Mountain and Collin Cheek! This local band plays a range of music from rock to country, Eagles to Zac Brown to James Taylor and more. We are excited to have these three musicians setting the tone at the Mountain Monarch Festival!

Here's the Deal

Food Truck


Grab a bite to eat at Here's the Deal food truck. This crew is local to WNC and offers excellent grab-and-go food. Check out their station for burgers, protein bowls, vegetarian bowls, and more!

Water and basic refreshments will be available at the food truck, FOG tent, and inside the Visitor Center.
