Astro News

Well, there are two exciting news items relating to the astro this week. The first is that I was a bit busy yesterday so forgot to report on it. Please accept my apologies for the late newsletter.

The second is that today (Saturday 24 September 2022) marks yet another landmark event. The first league hockey match will take place on the TigerTurf at 11:30 as the ladies 3xi host Broxbourne 4xi. This will be swiftly followed by the ladies 4xi hosting Bishops Stortford 7xi at 13:00. Pop down and witness history being made. No pressure ladies but, at the time of writing, nobody has lost a league match on the TigerTurf. Or scored a league goal, or won a league match, or made an outstanding league tackle to foil an opposition attacking move.

We look forward to reading the match reports on our website.

There is every chance that there will be a rugby match underway beside the TigerTurf but, hopefully, the players will move out of the way to give the fans a fine view of the hockey, as can be seen in the photo above.

Sports First Aid

Thank you to Sonia Ong for another successful Sports First Aid course delivered last Sunday. This now brings the total of club first aiders to around 50.
Thank you also to everyone who gave their time and the for cheerful participation in practical exercises of resuscitation, bandaging and use of slings

A gentle reminder, if you haven't already, to please give consent for use of Podium for yourself or your child, so that we are able to accurately record all incidents at the club and help to reduce sports injury in young people via the Podium website.

Performance Academy Players U14 & U12 (and U10 by invitation) 18:00 - 19:00
