Upcoming Events
  • Career Fair is this week Wednesday, September 21st, from 2pm-7pm in the Student Development Complex.
  • Coffee Conversations have been moved to Mondays. They will be held every Monday from 12:00-1:00 pm. So long as the weather is nice, we will be at the Picnic tables in front of our building. Come say hello. When the weather turns come upstairs to the commons area. 
  • The MUB Carnival night will be on Friday, September 23rd on Walker Lawn. If it rains it will be in the MUB Ballroom. The games, snacks, prizes, music, and henna tattoos will last from 6pm-9pm.
  • National Voter Registration Day is September 20th. Need to register? Don’t worry! There will be tables throughout campus where you can register between 10am and 3pm.
  • Students and student teams are invited to be a presenter and/or sign up to attend the 2022 Global and Community Engagement (G&CE) Conference (formerly known as D80 Conference.) This is a student centered in-person conference at Michigan Tech  on Saturday, October 29, 2022. We are interested in hearing presentations about  faculty-led experiences, study abroad, research, student organization, community service, alternative spring break, enterprise, class project, collaborative work with nonprofits, NGO, foundations, etc. The conference link above will give you a good idea of the type of presenters we've had in the past, you'll notice the wide-variety of presentations.

Conferences, Webinars, and Talks  
John Arnold (IHA  Alumn '17) Historical Architect at KNHP along with staff from the Geospatial Research Facility are working on a project with the Michigan State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) staff from Lansing and the Calumet Historic District Commission to conduct a survey of the heritage assets in the Village of Calumet.

Interested in learning how a SHPO heritage survey is conducted?  Come up to Calumet on Wednesday, September 21st at 9am @ the KNHP Park Headquarters for a training session led by the SHPO.  We will conduct the survey throughout the day on the 21st and the 22nd.  Please contact Dr. Don Lafreniere at djlafren@mtu.edu ASAP if you are planning on going or need a ride to Calumet.

  • 2022 Michigan Fall Democracy Fellow Position Description
    Campus Vote Project is seeking students who are passionate about democratic engagement, politically
    interested and are self-starters to help peers register and vote and engage them in dialogue around
    democracy through a semester-long fellowship. Campus Vote Project is dedicated to helping students
    gain access to the ballot and increasing youth voter turnout.  As a fellow, you will have the opportunity to work with administrative and faculty partners. You will work with the on-campus team to complete the four planning steps of the Students Learn Students Vote checklist, created to build power and ensure success. You will also be responsible for meeting deadlines and carrying out nonpartisan voter engagement activities on your campus.
