Noisy Offering
This Sunday – God Calls Abram and Sarai
Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you. I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
So Abram went, as the Lord had told him…
Genesis 12:1-4
After the flood and God’s promise to never again destroy the earth, God tries another way of being in relationship with humankind: God chooses one family, Abram and Sarai, and blesses them so that through them, others will also be blessed.

NOISY OFFERING THIS SUNDAY
Bring your loose change or “quiet money” with you this week so the children “can collect it” (get it??!?) for the good work of Southeast Linn Community Center. We’ll also be learning the Magic Penny song. Thanks for supporting our kids and community!
SUNDAY SCHOOL HAS BEGUN!
Sunday School began last week, September 11th!
Kids participating will leave the Sanctuary following Discovery Time during the morning service.
We have two classes: PreK through 3rd, and 4th through 6th.
This year both in Worship and Sunday School, we are using the Narrative Lectionary, which follows the story of the Bible from the Old Testament through New Testament, from Genesis to Pentecost.
COOPERATIVE YOUTH GROUP - ROOTED
Last Wednesday, September 14, around thirty youth from FirstPresMV, Seeds of Faith and the United Methodist Church gathered at Bass Farms for our kick-off event. It was a beautiful evening and a good time was had by all!
Our group will meet weekly on Wednesdays, 6:30 food and free time, 7:00-8:00 program.

PRAYERFUL HEALING SOUND BATH & YOGA NIDRA (SLEEP)
Thursday, Sept. 22nd 4-5pm (arrive by 3:55)

Experience deep relaxation, surrender, Oneness, and inner peace through prayerful Singing Bowl Sound Healing and Yogic Sleep (Yoga Nidra). Begins and ends with the penetrating power of singing bowls. Yogic Sleep, a reclined meditative experience, is added. VA Hospitals and Clinics offer it to reduce stress, PTSD, insomnia, etc. Mystics use it for blissful states of Oneness rest in The Sacred.
Bring a yoga mat (or folding reclining chair). Also a blanket while dressing in layers as your body temp will drop. Optional: a pillow beneath knees for lower back support.
Arrive by 3:55 to sign in, and settle in.

We are in need of volunteers to deliver Meals on Wheels in Mount Vernon during the month of October. It’s easy to help! Pick up insulated containers and list of deliveries at Southeast Linn Community Center in Lisbon, make the deliveries, then return the containers. Linn County is currently at MEDIUM Community Level as determined by the CDC. Wearing masks indoors is OPTIONAL. KN95 masks for adults, youth and children are provided by the church for anyone who would like to wear one.
