Education Fair

On September 25, Indiana Academy (IA) welcomed elementary students from across the state for a hands-on experience of Bible times. IA students volunteered to assist as Bible guides, providing support and leadership at the various locations. Stations included ancient kingdoms, pottery, livestock, crafts, learning Hebrew, the Sanctuary, David and Goliath, and bread-baking. The day ended with a special presentation by Rich Aguilera, which reinforced the Biblical account of the flood.

Robb Long, Ministerial/Evangelism Director, and Eric Freking, Associate Evangelism Director, are creating a video to highlight church planting opportunities around the state of Indiana. Filmed in Greenwood, the video highlights the Johnny Appleseed Church Planting Initiative. The Communications Team of Colleen Kelly, producer, Allan Smith, videographer, and Jodi Sarno, video editor, are combining their efforts to provide the finished product. The group visited and filmed four Greenwood locations: Welcome Sign, Craig Park, Greenwood Park Mall, and Mizo SDA church. Stay tuned to view this inspiring information in future publications, and join us in prayer for this initiative, that new churches will be planted throughout the conference.

Pathfinder Camporee

Nearly 2,500 Pathfinders (350 from Indiana) congregated at the Berrien County Fairgrounds September 20-22 for the Lake Union Pathfinder Camporee. Themed “Fearless”, the camporee was over seven years in the making, even being postponed in 2021.

The real highlight of Thursday was the inaugural mainstage program at the grandstand. Pathfinders gathered for a program filled with entertaining stories, song services and music, and a message presented by Armando Miranda, associate youth director at the North American Division.

“We’re going to talk about something fearless,” Miranda said at the beginning of his message. He focused on the biblical story found in Numbers 13 and 14, where the Israelites explored Canaan, and fearing what they found, later rebelled against God. “We had two guys (Caleb and Joshua) who were fearless.  Two guys who said, ‘I don’t care what anybody else says, I believe in my God,’” he continued.

Miranda concluded his message by giving a charge to be ‘fearless’. “You see, Pathfinders, a fearless person believes in God. A fearless person will go against anybody if they’re with God. No matter what happens, they will stand up for God, even if they’re against the current…even if everybody else is against them.”

Maranatha Haitian SDA Church Evangelism Campaign

On Sabbath, October 1, the evangelistic series titled, “The Earth in Peril? Jesus is the Answer!” concluded at the Indianapolis Central Hispanic church, under the spiritual leadership of Pastor Noel Ojeda.

Evangelist Wilton Girard, from Haiti, preached a powerful series from God’s word for four precious weeks. Fourteen precious souls went down into the watery grave of baptism and came up to their new walk with Jesus Christ.

Pastor Andre Trofort, Maranatha Haitian SDA Church

On Sabbath afternoon, September 10, the North  Vernon Church had a blessed time going door to door in the community inviting people to their upcoming Revelation Seminar starting September 30.

Marion Church Celebrates Visitors' Day

On Sabbath, September 24, the Marion church celebrated a successful Visitors’ Day, with the theme of God’s Love and a sermon about the Prodigal Son. Following the sermon, a mini-concert was provided by local church members and our Hispanic brethren. During the fellowship meal, some children in the church interviewed our visitors, to gather their impressions of the day. Please see the short video clip of these interviews below. Several friends and neighbors joined us, including some members who had not attended church for some time. One such member said she will begin coming to church again! We plan to repeat this program regularly to let our friends and family members know that we love them and really welcome them back to church.

Marion visitors day

Prior to his baptism on September 24, Michalan Raman gave his testimony, describing the steps that led to his decision to be baptized. Pastor Aaron Clark, who had been studying with him, performed his baptism. The Cicero church welcomed Michalan into fellowship with many happy smiles, handshakes, and warm hugs.

Revival and Reformation

From August 12 to September 12, the Fort Wayne Karen Adventist Company offered the Revival and Reformation program each Friday and Sabbath evening. The Lord added eight precious souls to our congregation through baptism on September 10. Evangelistic meetings are now underway in Indianapolis among the Burmese population. Please remember us in your prayers.

Hebrews 4:14-16   NKJV

Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed

through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God,

let us hold fast our confession.

For we do not have a High
Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses,

but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.

Let us therefore come boldly  to the throne of grace,

that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

My God,

I confess my sins to you, the High Priest,

who rules the Heavens and all
that there is.

You, who knows me better than I know myself.

You have
always been sympathetic to my weaknesses.

You have been there,
walked this path, and know my true infirmities.

You, too, were tempted, but rose above it all, sinless.

Praise your Holy
name.

Father, boldly I come before your throne seeking the grace and mercy,

that only you can provide, in my time of need.

Thank you, Lord, thank
you.

Amen.
