5th Annual North Metro Commuter Survey, TDM Conference in November | September 20, 2022

Hello!

As September welcomes the fall season, the Smart Commute team is hard at work with our 5th annual North Metro Commuter Survey.

The survey, now with over 6,000 responses over 4 years, has established itself as a strong TDM benchmark and tool for commuters and employees across our north metro region. I’d encourage you to check to see if your employer is participating this year by reaching out to Catherine.

Join us as we look to use analytical tools to provide the best TDM solutions for the region. If you’re interested in previous year’s results, you can check out all of the past regional results here.

Inside

North Metro Commuter Survey

In its fifth year, the North Metro Commuter Survey provides an opportunity for commuters into, out of, and through the north area.

This survey results in custom reports for participating employers, as well as the jurisdictions of the north area, and helps to provide a pulse on how people are traveling, and what they would like to improve.

Second Annual TDM Conference

This year's TDM Conference, hosted by ACT and CDOT, will provide information on TDM strategies to reduce vehicle miles traveled and greenhouse gas emissions in Colorado's transportation network. The sessions contain information about tax incentives, TDM data and technology, local examples of TDM and workplace strategies for TDM. Please attend and bring your questions to this esteemed group of professionals.

As the first year providing the Transportation Demand Management Conference in person and the second year hosting, the hosts are hoping to continue to grow in the years to come. With that in mind, tickets will be limited and we encourage those to register quickly to ensure a seat.

2022 Go-Tober Company Challenge

Have you signed up for the 2022 Go-Tober Company Challenge? This year, Way to Go is rewarding businesses who encourage employees to telework, or get around by bike, foot, transit, carpool instead of driving alone in their cars.

Employees who enter the challenge by tracking trips on MyWayToGo.org during the month of October will be entered to win cool prizes like a Kindle, noise-cancelling headphones and content streaming services to make their commutes more fun.

You can register your business by visiting the Go-Tober website and filling out the company sign-up form before Monday, Sept. 26.

RTD Fare Study and Equity Analysis

As Smart Commute has mentioned in past newsletters, RTD has received feedback from customers that fares are expensive and difficult to understand. In response, RTD is in the implementation phase of their Systemwide Fare Study and Equity Analysis to reexamine the RTD fare system holistically, taking into consideration equity, affordability, and simplicity.

RTD is taking a customer-centric approach to this study, with opportunities for customers as well as stakeholders and the community members that we serve to help shape the direction of this study. RTD will explore and evaluate potential changes to the fare structure and pass programs throughout 2022, with consideration of study recommendations by the RTD Board of Directors planned for early 2023.
