🕺🏽 Are you interested in getting involved on campus? Want to meet new people and learn more about Ukrainian culture and community?
✨ The UVicUSS is looking for new students to join our dynamic team of young leaders this fall.
🌈 We provide a platform for our members to really get involved in the projects that speak to them and grow their skills as community leaders. Whether you have a creative spirit, love fostering community, or simply want to pinch some perogies, we've got the opportunities for you!
Most importantly! You don't even have to be Ukrainian! We accept members from all backgrounds and orientations!

- Gaining leadership and teamwork experience;
- Gain access to our network of Ukrainian Canadian mentors including diplomats, community leaders, social activists, and entrepreneurs.
- Gain experience organizing and executing social events.
- Learn more about Ukrainian culture and the Ukrainian community here in Canada.

Recap of Clubs and Course Union days

On September 14th and 15th, we took part in UVic's Clubs and Course Union Days. Thank you to everyone who came out and said "hi"! It was a pleasure to meet you all!
And a special thank you to those that purchased a tuque! We were also able to raise an additional $120 for the Canada Ukraine Foundation!

On Saturday, September 17th we hosted our first in person social event at Mcrae's Bistro. It was a pleasure to meet students and community members alike!
We'll be hosting more social events each month. Be sure to follow us on our socials to never miss out!

Tuque Fundraiser for Ukraine
Over the summer we have been selling handmade Ukrainian tuques with all proceeds going to the Canada Ukraine Foundation.
So far we have raised $750!

Interest in learning the Ukrainian language is certainly growing and its never too late to start!
The Taras Shevchenko Ukrainian Language School of Vancouver is offering online Ukrainian Language classes this fall. They have classes for learners of all levels from beginner to advanced and will be offered on Mondays from 6:30pm-8:30pm.

Having settled over 500 Ukrainian newcomers since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Help Ukraine Vancouver Island is always looking for volunteers to help with community support, translation services and more!
