Making the Connection to Partnerships

by Sabrina Lane

As I perused this month’s newsletter, I smiled. It is once again packed full of information that can be shared with clients, constituents, family, and friends. But it also exemplifies the numerous and diverse partnerships that Wyoming 211 has built over the years.  For example, Wyoming 211 has been partners with Enroll Wyoming since 2013 and has been the front door for individuals seeking health insurance through the marketplace. Our call staff are trained navigators and can determine eligibility and identify health insurance options for clients. If a client needs more assistance with their health insurance options, our staff will do a warm handoff to the Enroll Wyoming navigators for a more in-depth review. I could go on and on about our partnerships. I am so proud of each and every one.

If you have information you would like to share, please reach out and we would be happy to connect your information with those who need to know…that’s what we do.

If their contact information has changed in the past 2 years, they need to contact the Wyoming Department of Health Customer Service Center at 1-855-294-2127 or through their web portal HERE.

The impending termination of the Public Health Emergency, or "PHE," represents a return to business-as-usual for Medicaid. Recertification forms will be sent out to all Medicaid clients when the PHE ends, and we need to make sure that recipients, many of whom haven't had to reapply for nearly 3 years, receive these forms.

ALSO: Because of the anticipated volume of Medicaid applications/recertifications being submitted, please encourage your clients/constituents to act now to avoid any potential processing delays.

This Month We Dare To Ask
Pineapple on pizza: Yea or Nay?

"Not a deal breaker, but not something I will go out of my way to order." - Sabrina
 - Jane (and that, my friends, is a direct quote)

"YUCK YUCK YUCK. Ham and jalapeno is bomb diggity."Josie

"Noooo. I dont like sweet on my pizza. Pepperoni and Jalapeno!" Nichole

"I am with Sabrina not the worst thing but I love pepperoni!." - Tasha

"If I'm only ordering one pizza it will probably be a meat lovers' pizza, but if I'm ordering two then hell yeah I want Hawaiian. But there was one time that I ordered Hawaiian in Cheyenne - from a nationwide chain - and in addition to pineapple they put cherries on it and I was like no way I didn't order a friggin' fruit cocktail here."Karis

Do you have a question for the Wyoming 211 team? ASK!
Karis Rowley joined the 211 team in June of 2021 and has been bringing his creativity to the team ever since. In addition to developing the monthly newsletter and revamping the web site, he writes copy, designs graphics for 211's media and produces our promotional videos - in fact, that's his voice doing the voice over and his original music in the background.

Karis' previous experience with nonprofits includes a stint on the board of directors for the Cheyenne Little Theatre Players (community theater) where he also volunteered time writing and directing a feature-length film, directing various theater productions (including Xanadu, The Outsiders, and Miracle on 34th Street), performing as an actor and a musician, and contributing lots and lots of sound design, lighting design, and special effects to various productions. He has also worked with the Bas Bleu Theatre Company in Ft. Collins and the Gryphon Theater in Laramie.

A graduate of the University of Wyoming, Karis is also a national champion in the field of competitive speech writing / delivery and the recipient of numerous public speaking awards. He enjoys infusing little bits of humor and fun into everything he does, including his various responsibilities at Wyoming 211, and founded the Inclusion Fine and Performing Arts festival which helped to showcase the talents of developmentally disabled individuals in Cheyenne.

"I'm very grateful to be here, contributing what I can to this wonderful organization. I truly believe in Wyoming 211 and the good work that it does in our communities. The leadership is top-notch, and the vision of our Executive Director Sabrina Lane and our Board of Directors is truly impressive. And the team - the team is just the best. Jane is so much fun and such a wealth of knowledge. Nichole is so devoted to what she does, and is laying the groundwork for a lifetime devoted to service. And then there's Josie - my favorite days are any day when Josie brings her crock-pot to the office because I know that we're about to have some incredible food! I am surrounded by fun and inspiring people. And we have a new team member named Natasha and have just filled two new positions with talented people. I'm sure you'll be meeting them in future issues of the newsletter! This organization is expanding and is just going to get better and better. I look forward to doing what I can for 211 for as long as I can do it."
