Join us tomorrow!

Sunday, September 18

2:30-4:30 at Croasdaile Village in the Boles Room

Hello everyone and welcome to our 2022-23 recorder playing season.  It was so great to get back in person last spring, and I am excited that we can continue that trend this Fall! Our officers have been busy organizing our season, and I want to say thanks to them for their work! This year we will enjoy our playing sessions under the direction of the talented Phil Hollar, Pat Petersen, and Jennifer Streeter. Our anthology this season is Canciones Espagnas, and will be available at our September session. (Some of you may already have this anthology, we used it in 2012-13.) I hope to see all our returning members at the September session, and help us grow by bringing a new player with you!

Sue Ann Wright
TRS President

Please renew your membership or join TRS!

This year our dues will be $80.00 for the season as a sustainer member. This is quite a bargain, as it covers the anthology and other music, as well as all 9 playing sessions!  These dues go to paying the music directors for their time and effort, as well as our printed music, and expenses for our online presence.

If you prefer to pay per session, each session is $15.00.  If you are a first time visitor, your first playing session is free. The cost for the anthology is $15.00.

Please fill out the membership form on our website! Thanks to Jennifer Streeter for updating it. There is also a paypal button if you'd like to pay $15 per session.

We encourage all TRS members to also join the American Recorder Society.  TRS is a chapter of ARS.

Our September session will be held at Croasdaile Village in Durham.  Thank you to Marie Grauerholz for making these arrangements for our group. The playing session will be led by Phil Hollar.  We hope to see you tomorrow!

Here are Phil's selections for Sunday’s meeting. All but one are from the 2012-2013 anthology, so if you have it you can practice ahead of time. If not, don't worry, we'll have copies of the music for you on Sunday.  Phil chose one additional piece, which is linked below:

Verbum caro factum est
Xicochi, xicochi

Usually we just enjoy playing, but have also performed in the past at the NC History Museum, school programs, Mordecai Historic Park, the NC Capitol building, and of course the TRS spring recitals.
