The Lowly Strung

Upstairs @ The Brewhouse & Kitchen
Thursday, 22nd September, 8pm

A welcome Club debut for Kent-based Americana/bluegrass band The Lowly Strung comprising:
The Starks Brothers - Toby (acoustic guitar, lead vocals), James (mandolin, vocals), Jonny (fiddle, vocals) - along with Malcolm Peet (Dobro) and Jon Fuller (double bass).

It's the classic bluegrass line-up but they bring a wealth of experience from years of performing in various styles. From the age of 10 the brothers played everything from reggae to folk in their family band before branching out with Jon to play the festivals - Cambridge and Glastonbury included. Malcolm originally came to London to write music for the BBC and tour with a theatrical group. He has also played pub-rock (once holding down a residency at the Kings Head in Upper Street) and guested on a Maddy Prior album.
Blimey, no wonder they're good!
