CARTA's collaboration hubs are unique platforms that prepare CARTA students to have diverse and global perspectives by supporting the interdependent community-based approaches to problem-solving needed for the twenty-first-century creative, information, and cultural economies.

MBUS LIVE ART TALK WITH WILLIAM MAGUIRE
TONIGHT! Monday, September 19, 2022, 7:00 PM via Zoom. Join Senior Special Events Manager, Colette Mello, and FIU Professor of Photography, William Maguire for an engaging conversation about his work and practice. Over the course of his illustrious career, Maguire has been recognized by the John Simon Guggenheim Foundation, as well as by national and regional fellowships from the National Endowment of the Arts. This event is supported by the City of Miami Beach Cultural Arts Council. Free and open to the public.

TERRA EPHEMERA BY GRETCHEN SCHARNAGL
Thursday, September 22, 5:30 – 8:30 PM in person. Teaching Professor, Miami-based artist, and frequent exhibitor at MBUS, Gretchen Scharnagl opens her exhibition, Terra Ephemera. The work connects environmental issues with fragments of her own life and the lives of others. On view through October 8, 2022. SOLO VIOLA CONCERT BY MICHAEL KLOTZ

The next time you visit FIU CARTA Mana Wynwood, the personable and capable FIU Art and Art History alum and MBUS LEADS participant, Elyssa Llanso, may very well be the one to greet you at the door! Elyssa is a practicing artist who works with her MBUS board mentor, Deborah Briggs. In her first few months at FIU, she has also assumed the role of the volumetric capture technician for the Lee Caplin iSTAR powered by Soar at FIU CARTA | Mana Wynwood and provides editorial support for In The Mix! GARY MONROE'S PHOTOGRAPHS OF REFUSENIKS IN THE 1980S
On view through December 9, 2022. Enjoy this exhibition of remarkable photographs of Jewish immigrants who fled Russia for Miami Beach in the latter part of the 20th Century.
