Expression of Interest Contract Caterer Walgett District Sporting Club

Walgett District Sporting Club is looking for a new operator for its stable and popular food operation. The Club has seating in Bistro and throughout the main club for up to 80 guests and an auditorium that is used as a function space, setting for approx. 160 guests, and an additional function area holding up to 40 guests. The Club operates food service 6 days a week for both lunch and dinner (Club closed Monday). The club has a large takeaway clientele as well. Current operator turnover is $600k pa + functions.

The offering comes with a fully operating kitchen, walk in coolroom, along with standard kitchen equipment including fryers, salamander, hot plates, pizza oven and more with plans for equipment upgrade in the next 12 month. Also comes with standard cutlery and crockery and basic cooking utensils, just walk in and start cooking.

The ideal food offer will be a modern Australian menu with a variety of options for kids and flexibility with the menu. The Club Management and members are looking for consistency and quality at all times. We are open to discussing the menu and working with a combination of your strengths and our members' needs.

The successful Caterer will demonstrate that they can provide:

• Regular menu revisions and changes to make best use of seasonal produce
• A wide variety of meals
• High quality meals using high quality produce/foodstuffs
• High quality presentation of meals and service/dining areas
• High quality back of house (BOH) and front of house (FOH) staff
• Competitive pricing

This is a great opportunity to grow the business in a stable environment with a solid Club and a Board of Directors who aim to continue to extend the business in the area of food service. Favourable commercial terms are open for negotiation with the successful applicant once the recruitment process has been completed. Terms will include a RENT-FREE period to allow time to settle in, followed by a nominal rate to contribute to utilities costs.

To support the social and economic recovery of our regions, the NSW Government’s $20 million Regional Events Acceleration Fund helps organisations to:

• attract new major international and domestic events to regional areas
• make existing regional events even bigger and better.

Funding will help meet the costs of attracting or retaining major events, such as premier sporting fixtures or competitions, and helps fund the operational and infrastructure improvements existing events need to increase visitation and length of stay.
