Volunteer to Help Friends of the Green Bay Trail Maintain Plant Life: September 24 at 9 AM
The Friends of the Green Bay Trail invite volunteers as they remove invasive species, deadhead plants, and collect seeds. They will meet at 9 AM on September 24 at the Mary Street trail entrance (in Glencoe) and discuss the work plan at that time. Bring work gloves and pruners if you have them. Go Green Winnetka's Solar Tour of the Village: September 24
Winnetka residents are invited to join Go Green Winnetka's Solar Tour of the Village, taking place from 10 AM to 2 PM on Saturday, as part of the Illinois Solar Tour, which is hosted by the Illinois Solar Education Association. Attendees may visit participating homes independently at their own pace and homeowners will be available to share information and answer questions. Free Gun Locks Available at the Winnetka Police Department
Project ChildSafe has provided the Winnetka Police Department with a supply of gun locks that can be used on both hand guns and long guns. Residents may pick one (or more) up in the lobby of the Winnetka Police Department at 410 Green Bay Road at any time while supplies last.
