Re-Framing Aging in Communications!
Thursday, September 22, 2022
This session is for anyone in a position of communicating about aging in Miami-Dade County. It will reveal how our everyday communication practices can inadvertently undermine the positive things we are trying to achieve within the aging sector. Research-based recommendations from the national Reframing Aging Initiative can help us get on track for more productive messaging and communications.

Linda Schotthoefer, OMB Program Coordinator/Capacity Development, Miami-Dade County, is a member of the national cadre of Reframing Aging facilitators convened by the Reframing Aging Initiative by the Gerontological Society of America. In her previous position as Vice President/Community Initiatives at United Way Miami, she led grant making in support of local programming for older adults, facilitated the Older Adult Advocacy Taskforce, and contributed to collaborative leadership of the Miami-Dade Age Friendly Initiative.
