August Notes....
Ahhhh, this cool weather is a balm to our skin, isn't it?

The weather may have cooled off, but the art happenings are definitely heating up. There are lots of opportunities to share and view great art!

First and foremost, our General Meeting is October 3 from 6-8 pm at the downtown library in the Marion Bingham room. We can inspire each other by sharing new (or old) work.

Art Mingle is BACK! Meet at the Barrelhouse in Garden City, September 21 at 6 pm. Bring your favorite tool and have some fun with your fellow artists.

Another opportunity is the GOLDEN Acrylic A-Z Virtual Lecture/Demo, OCT 19, 5:30-7 PM (PT), 6:30-8 PM (MT). It is FREE!!!

Check out the Open Calls for TVAA Artists:
All That Glitters is open and ready for your submission. The deadline is October 8.
Meridian Library Open Call for "Meridian Solo" has openings for 2023.

There are TVAA Exhibitions to inspire you:
Opus is showing off at the Riverside Hotel's Water's Edge Gallery. Mark you calendar for the opening reception that coincides with Garden City's First Friday, October 7; awards will be given at 7:00 p.m. Also, take a look at the opportunity to have a table to display your work in the lobby of the hotel that evening.
Summer Souvenirs is showing until October 18 at the Treasure Chest Gallery in the Gem Center for the Arts
Light & Shadow is up at the Nampa Civic Center. Plan to attend the opening reception on October 22 from 6-8 p.m.

The Riverside Hotel is hosting a Holiday Night Market event November 18, 3-8 pm. It is a fun event and brings a lot of folks in to see your wares.

I usually post images from each current exhibit. For some reason my computer would not let me download any images. I am sure it is user error; I will have it fixed for next month.

If you have a special exhibit or showing for next month's newsletter let me know. I try to publish the newsletter on or near the 15th of the month.

Thanks so much!
Cindi

"With "Winre Wonderland" we celebrate one of the most incredible times of the year to be in Idaho - lazy holidays, colorful sweaters, Halloween fun, hot chocolate, snug blankets, snowmen, christmas trees, Hanukkah, family, festivities, holiday music, and more. We leave the interpretation open to your imagination. What does Winter in Idaho mean to you? Subjects are all welcome as long as they are family friendly.

Entry deadline: Tuesday, September 27, 2022 (midnight, USA Mountain Time)
The exhibition will be on display through Saturday, October 1
Crossroads is open Monday through Saturday 10:00am to 5:00pm
Linda Feinberg:
I entered a church exhibit and surprisingly my poetry was accepted to their exhibit. I won't be able to attend the reception since I will be at my daughter's wedding in Utah, but I encourage readers in Idaho to attend and view the art and poetry on the theme from Psalm 46. This is the Christian translation of Psalm 46:10 (the Jewish one is a little different).

"Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth"

I felt that some of my poems related to the Psalm as many of my poems reflect on my own spirituality. I have not been in many churches and it was amazing to me to see how big this one was when I went to drop off my binder. They even have their own coffee shop and book store there.
