Six Chief parts

Issue 81

The following info-gram shows you two remarkable things. It compares the New Testament manuscripts that we have available with other historically significant and generally accepted manuscripts. It points out the enormous discrepancy between the sheer number of manuscripts. It also draws your attention to the age gap between the original document and the first known copy. Nothing compares to the Bible! I hope that you will take some time to appreciate this evidence.

Is your faith in the integrity of the Bible well-founded? There is 2000 years of evidence that both the believer and the skeptic can sort through. What will we find? A MIRACLE! The Word of the Lord Endures Forever!

Contrary to what we would expect, the integrity of the Scriptures is clearly established by the “mountain” of evidence that is available. The accusation that the Bibles we have are full of errors and additions and not reliable copies of the originals is an accusation that lacks any clear evidence or solid support.

Eating and Dreaming

On October 2 you are invited to join us after the Divine Service for a potluck (bring something to share). While we eat, we will also be doing a little brainstorming. The board of lay ministry wants to get your thoughts about our Sanctuary. Are there things that need fixing or updating? Are there ways that we could improve its look? How could we make things more accessible? What are some things that you think should never be changed? We want to hear what you think! Please plan to join us!

Bored with the Liturgy?

This week’s Theological Leftovers: Bored with the Liturgy?
Maybe we get bored with what happens on Sunday because we are confused about where God has called to "express ourselves." What do you think?
