DÉPART DE CHRIS SALTER DE LA GOUVERNANCE D'HEXAGRAM  

Après 9 ans à la codirection d’Hexagram, le professeur Christopher Salter a quitté la gouvernance du Réseau. Il rejoint aujourd’hui l’Université des arts de Zurich (ZHdK) à titre de professeur en arts immersifs et directeur du Immersive Arts Space. Par son propre travail académique et artistique, ainsi que par sa vision stratégique et le levier international qu’il a apporté au Réseau, Salter a soutenu la recherche-création et contribué à son développement en tant qu’approche valide de production académique et artistique. Hexagram et toute son équipe tiennent à remercier chaleureusement Chris pour son inestimable contribution tout au long de son mandat, et, plus largement, à la communauté grandissante de chercheur.e.s-créateurs et créatrices au Québec. CHRIS SALTER’S DEPARTURE FROM HEXAGRAM CO-DIRECTION 

After 9 years as Hexagram co-director, Professor Christopher Salter has stepped down from the Network leadership. Salter is now Professor of Immersive Arts at Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) and director of the Immersive Arts Space. Through his own academic and artistic work, as well as his strategic foresight, and the international leverage he has given the Network, Salter has championed Research-Creation as a valid and valuable approach for academic and artistic production. ATELIER : RÉDACTION ET ÉCRITURE

La période d'inscription pour l'atelier sur la rédaction et l’écriture pour la publication de recherche est prolongée jusqu'au jeudi 22 septembre à 18h. L’objectif est d’aider les chercheur.e.s en début de carrière à améliorer leur écriture, notamment au niveau de la structure et de la clarté de textes, articles, et chapitres pour publication.

WORKSHOP : WRITING

Registration for the writing workshop for research publication is still open until Thursday, September 22, 6pm. The goal of this workshop is to assist early-career researchers to improve their writing skills. The focus of the workshop will be on structure and achieving clarity in texts, articles and chapter for publication.

L'inscription pour l’atelier sur les processus de publication de livres pour des membres étudiant.e.s et des membres co-chercheurs et co-chercheuses du Réseau est prolongée jusqu'au jeudi 22 septembre, 18h. L'objectif de cet atelier est de clarifier les processus de publication de livres pour les chercheurs et chercheuses en début de carrière, de la proposition, les ententes, la révision, la traduction, jusqu'à la publication, et au-delà.

WORKSHOP : BOOKS AND ARTICLES PUBLICATION

The goal of this workshop is to clarify book publication processes for early-career researchers, from proposal, contracts, editing, translation, to publication, and other topics as desired by attendees.

DEMO26 MARIE-EVE MORISSETTE – ON/CONTACT 

En juillet dernier, dans le cadre de sa résidence à Hexagram, Marie-Eve Morissette [membre étudiante, UQAC-NAD] a présenté les résultats de son projet de recherche-création qui vous sont maintenant dévoilés dans cette nouvelle DEMO. ON/CONTACT est une installation interactive se présentant sous la forme d’une colonne haptique que l’intéracteur.ice presse contre son corps et dont les caresses engendrent un paysage sonore et vibratoire immersif qui séduit les sens. Dans un contexte post-pandémique où la proximité, les rapprochements et les contacts ont été mis à rude épreuve, cet objet anti-distanciation réinitialise le fait des corps qui se touchent et se trouvent en présence. Last July, as part of her residency at Hexagram, Marie-Eve Morissette [student member, UQAC-NAD] presented the results of her research-creation project, which are now revealed in this new DEMO. ON/CONTACT is an interactive installation in the form of a haptic column that the user presses against their body and whose caresses generate an immersive sound and vibratory environment that captivates the senses. In a post-pandemic context where proximity, closeness and contact have been severely tested, this anti-distanciation object reinitializes the fact of bodies touching each other and being in presence. APPEL À RÉSIDENCES EUROPEAN MEDIA ART PLATFORM

Pour la première fois, Hexagram s'associe à la European Media Art Platform (EMAP), en tant qu’organisme d’accueil, pour l’appel à proposition de résidences. Les artistes européen.ne.s (incluant ceux et celles inscrits dans un programme doctoral) ou les collectifs peuvent déposer un proposition de projet pour une résidence d’une durée de 2 mois, qui doit avoir lieu entre mars et octobre 2023 à Montréal. CALL EUROPEAN MEDIA ART PLATFORM RESIDENCIES

For the first time, Hexagram is collaborating with European Media Art Platform (EMAP), as special host organization in the call for applications to residencies. European artists, or collectives can apply with a project proposal for a two-month residency taking place between March and October 2023. Independent artists and PhD students are eligible (Europeans only). We invite members to circulate the call in their network and institutions. Read more.

Le 28e symposium international d'art électronique ISEA aura lieu du 16 au 21 mai 2023 à Paris. L'appel à propositions artistiques et l'appel à propositions académiques sont encore ouverts.
