Minnesota Community Health Worker Alliance
Associate Executive Director

Purpose
The Minnesota Community Health Worker Alliance (“Alliance”) Associate Executive Director (ED) is responsible for supervising the daily operations of the organization, as directed by the Executive Director, in accordance with the policies and procedures, established by the Board of Directors. The Associate ED is responsible for serving as the community engagement manager; leading and coordinating community engagement efforts, and communicating with stakeholders and partners. This role reports to the Executive Director.
 
Functions/Tasks/Responsibilities

  • Works closely with Executive Director to ensure the day-to-day operations of the Alliance are functioning efficiently and consistent with policies, project goals, and timelines.
  • Provides leadership to and manages the efforts of contractors to ensure appropriate support with the Executive Director.
  • Assists the Executive Director in supporting the Board of Directors
  • Attends committee meetings and assists with projects or initiatives of various committees.
  • Serves as the Alliance’s community engagement manager, responsible for developing and implementing a strategic relationship management plan to ensure regular communications with stakeholders that will ultimately advance the Alliance’s mission and lead to sustainability for the organization.
  • Contributes to and assists with organizational contracts, grants, or projects.
  • Assists in monitoring project status reports to ensure projects stay on track.
Requirements/Qualifications
  • Exceptional organization and leadership abilities
  • Ability to quickly establish rapport with diverse groups of people and organizations.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience managing and working within work plans and budget hours for projects.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently, while also using judgment on when to seek team guidance and input to ensure the success of the organization.
  • Operate tools, technology, and equipment in accordance with Alliance protocols, operating procedures, and safety standards.
  • Working knowledge of WordPress, Microsoft Outlook, and other Microsoft products, video conferencing technology, MailChimp, Eventbrite, Canva, and social media channels.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, as well as a skilled presenter to groups.
  • Experience developing and implementing community engagement settings with diverse communities.
  • Trained as a CHW, certificate holder a plus, or demonstrated life experience serving a CHW-like role or working closely with CHWs.
  • Enthusiastically invested and committed to the continued growth of health equity and public health efforts with the use of CHW strategies.
  • A connection to the state of Minnesota is preferred.

Hours
This is a contracted role for 13-18 hours per week.
