Dear parents,
First of all, I would like to express our most sincere thanks to all your cooperation with our new service company, ESV, since the start of this School year 22-23. We also want to take this chance to introduce the new communication channel for the this Service inquiry - the ESV Registrar Office (registrar.office@esv.edu.vn) so we can make sure that all parents' requests and opinions are listened to and supported accordingly.
Secondly, there is some news that we would like to update you on:
1. Prolonged waiting time for Secondary students who bring their own food:
We received few complaints regarding the lack of equipment in the Canteen of Secondary students and the unreasonable lunch time for those students who bring their own lunch. There were not enough microwaves and students had to wait a long time in order to use it. In response to this, we added extra microwaves for both the Secondary and Preparatory canteens to make sure students will have enough time to enjoy their home-brought meal.
2. New add-on service in Canteen:
In the previous months, we conducted an online survey with all students regarding the add-on service in Canteen.
At the moment, we are providing the extra Lunch bar with Snacks, Sandwiches, Vietnamese breads and Beverages for non-registered students from Grade 7/ Year 8 and upper. Students can purchase these items in cash without pre-order.
Soon, we will introduce the new cashless system. Students at every level will be able to pay by credit and parents can supervise their child(ren)'s payment history with no more concerns about safety when child(ren) carrying money on their own.
3. Updated price for School blazers and ties:
On Monday, 19th September 2022, the email with the title as “Notice of the change in compulsory uniform (2022 – 2023)” was sent to all the parents informing about the introduction of the new compulsory uniform items: winter blazer and school tie.
We have been receiving many of your pre-orders as well as pre-payments up to this day.
I noticed that there are concerns from parents about the date for the availability of winter blazers and school ties, I would like to share that they will be in stock around next month, October 2022.
For the parents who have not placed a pre-order and/or completed the pre-payment yet, kindly note that the current prices for winter blazers and school ties will only remain until 31st October, 2022. After that date, the new prices of 1,500,000 VND/unit for winter blazers and 500,000 VND/unit for school ties will be applied. Kindly note, that RGSV ties and blazers must be worn by all Secondary students from 1st November 2022.
4. Introduction of "Farm-to-table" Project:
With a purpose of educating students about food traceability and letting them have a chance to get familiar with the natural cycle, we would like to introduce the "Farm-to-table" programme. This is a social movement which promotes serving local food at RGSV's school cafeteria, preferably through direct acquisition from the producer. We are aiming to educate children about food safety, food freshness, food seasonality, and small-farm economics and from that, children will have changes in attitudes about food as well.
In this project, students are encouraged to plant vegetables by themselves and observe the growing process at the rooftop of the School Cafeteria. Therefore, we are looking forward to receiving donations of unused pots, carton boxes or any garden tools from parents. We hope to receive your support and encouragement so that your child(ren) can enjoy their practical experience.
