Wetland restoration has a special place in Milena McWatt’s heart and she's excited to share the things she learned at course by the University of Alberta Faculty of Extension, where she got local, hands-on experience in how to design, implement and build wetlands. Read the story.

Important grasslands west of Claresholm have been protected by a new conservation agreement between landowners and Nature Conservancy of Canada. A 643-hectare property in the MD of Willow Creek will be combined with another section of wilderness already protected in the Porcupine Hills. (Photo: Brent Calver, NCC).

A new University of Alberta project is harnessing information from thousands of soil samples into one big database to get an idea of how healthy the province’s agricultural soils are. Researchers will be able to use the data to gauge soil health across the province and support efficient land management.
