This Week's Intention: I say a little no to something or someone in order to say a little yes to spending time in the Secret Place.

"To what greater inspiration and counsel can we turn than to the imperishable truth to be found in this treasure house, the Bible?"
-Queen Elizabeth II

This morning the world witnessed the funeral of the remarkable Queen Elizabeth II.

For two minutes, they held silence in her remembrance.

It is astounding to consider that this woman held an entire monarchy in her heart for her entire life. She once said, "I cannot lead you into battle. I do not give you laws or administer justice but I can do something else - I can give my heart and my devotion to these old islands and to all the peoples of our brotherhood of nations."

I can give my heart and my devotion to these old islands and to all the peoples of our brotherhood of nations.

In her honor today, I hold silence in her remembrance, pondering this one question:

What do I give my heart and my devotion to?

Queen Elizabeth believed in "taking stock":

"We all need to get the balance right between action and reflection. With so many distractions, it is easy to forget to pause and take stock."

In last week's podcast episode, Every day in the Secret Place, we challenged ourselves to say a little no in order to say a little yes to a little time in the Secret Place, that quiet, oft-isolated place or space where we can "pause and take stock." This week, we continue our conversation on finding contentment as a result of time spent in the Secret Place.
