All members who have yet to renew were contacted recently. Thanks to all of you who have renewed. All remaining members who have yet to renew will receive a follow-up soon. Membership continues to cost £10 for Adults and Families and £5 for Seniors and Juniors (under 16s). 



Match Day presence is beefed up

We have increased our match day presence with new kiosks which will be manned by representatives on match days. As well as our Study Centre surgeries, we will have reps in the Fan Zone and in the East Stand concourse. Members can renew their memberships or just chat about the club and the Trust. Come and see us!




CUOSC Column - September 15 2022

Queen Elizabeth II

At CUOSC, we wish to portray our deepest sympathies to the Royal Family as the passing of Queen Elizabeth II last Thursday. The events since that day have been somewhat surreal, as not many of us have known any other monarch in our lifetimes. As a mark of respect, the EFL programme of games was cancelled last weekend, but we look forward to paying our respects to the Queen at Brunton Park on Saturday for the visit of AFC Wimbledon.

 
Safeguarding In Football

This weekend (17th/18th September) sees the launch of the Football Associations’ Play Safe campaign to raise awareness of safeguarding provision across football. This season the Play Safe campaign will highlight the vital role parents and carers have in football. Carlisle United have many supporters who are players, parents, coaches, referees and administrators in football at various levels, so at CUOSC we wanted to help highlight this very important facet of football, for the safety of all concerned.

It’s important parents and carers recognise what needs to be in place for their child to have a positive football experience and as clubs, parents and supporters we all have a collective responsibility to ensure the game is a safe, positive and an enjoyable experience for the millions of children, young people and adults who regularly play, watch, coach, referee and volunteer in the game.

 
The FA has a three-part strategy:

Implementing preventative safeguarding measures (such as safer recruitment) to create fun, safe football environments
Making the reporting of concerns as easy as possible
Ensuring safeguarding, child protection and adult at risk concerns are investigated swiftly and thoroughly in conjunction with statutory agencies – and with demonstrable outcomes.
 

It is really important that we as supporters are also aware of this and as such the FA has developed a safeguarding course, specifically for parents and guardians, which can be found at: Safeguarding Awareness for Parents and Carers | England Football Learning

This course will assist parents, carers and supporters to know what to do if there is an issue, such as where and how to report it.


Mansfield Town 0-0 Carlisle United

Carlisle United were back in action on Tuesday evening after last Saturday’s postponement. A good team performance, a clean sheet and another point gained at Mansfield. Only one defeat in the opening seven games sounds good, but with 4 of those games being draws, we do need to start converting those into wins before long.
