Embrace the Grace - Weekly Reflection

Do not let Judas’ actions keep you from surrendering your heart to Jesus.

How easily we can allow someone who isn’t the Son of God and Son of Man to cause us to lose faith; to lose heart. We witness an unkind word or a less-than-loving action from a fellow human being within the Church, and we’re ready to pack our bags and head for the hills.

Stop! Take a deep breath. Call upon the Holy Spirit. Center yourself on Jesus. Recall his words on Good Friday when he said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.”

Each one of us, at times, by our sins, betrays Jesus. We fall short. We stumble. Thanks be to God, we can approach the Lord with a sorrowful, contrite heart and ask forgiveness. And guess what? He forgives us. His mercy endures forever. A forgiven person then shares forgiveness.

May we never forget what took place at the Last Supper. Yes, it's true. Judas betrayed Jesus, but Jesus instituted that holy evening the Priesthood and the Eucharist – avenues of God’s grace. Never lose sight of what Jesus did because of what Judas did.

That applied at the Last Supper, and it still applies today.

Family Fest 2022 is officially in the books with a profit of $79,810.86!

What an incredible total. It is especially impressive when we realize that it was our first Family Fest since 2019 and the onset of the global pandemic. Although our expenses dramatically increased vs. our 2019 expenses, Two Holy Martyrs Parish committed to keeping 2022 pricing reasonable so that our community could genuinely have a great family weekend.

Take a look at some of our numbers: there were a record number of 4-day wristbands sold: 914! while 8,471 beers were consumed during the four-day Fest. More importantly, this year's Fest provided an infinite number of smiles!

As with any successful event, numerous levels of appreciation are in order:

Thank you to all our Clergy, Staff, and Committee Members who sacrificed countless hours. Thank you to all our volunteers who worked before, during, and after the Fest to make it memorable. Thank you to all our sponsors, supporters, and business partners who contributed monetary resources to make this year's Fest special. Thank you to our neighbors for their patience and understanding throughout the Fest operations. And finally, thank you to all of our parishioners, our St. Symphorosa School families, and all those in our extended community who attended the festivities and made 2022 a fantastic "Family" Fest!
