Fall is right around the corner, y’all! And with it comes the chance for us to satisfy our cravings for pumpkin spice everything. Whether you are a lover (that’s me) or loather of the delicious spice combination, it’s here and ready to rock your world for a few months. So please don’t try to fight it. I mean, come on…it’s everywhere!

That delicious scent conveys a sense of coziness, kick-starting nostalgia from past fall seasons, family gatherings, falling leaves, and cooler weather. If you’re tired of waiting for the fall menus to come around, here’s an easy mix you can make at home to add to your baked goods or a piping hot cup of java…

Edes Custom Meats has opened a new location in Wolflin Square, off I-40 Frontage Road. It joins two other retail stores at 6700 McCormick and 6103 Hillside.

Nationwide chain Chick’n Cone is rumored to be opening an Amarillo location at 2300 S. Georgia St. Diners will soon enjoy handheld chicken—in a waffle cone—and the chain’s waffle crunch shakes. The concept began as a food truck on the East Coast.

La Bella on Olsen is in the process of changing its name to Big Jim’s Pizza Co. We haven’t heard of any pending menu changes.

El Tapatio will open a new location at 5630 Amarillo Blvd. West in the former Applebee’s location. The restaurant is known for its authentic, traditional Mexican plates.

Charlee’s Chicken opened Sept. 7 at 614 S. Polk St. in the former home of Polk Street Eats. Downtown diners can expect upscale comfort food plus Happy Hour and drink specials.

Feng Cha, a national tea chain known for its cozy teahouse experience, has plans to open an Amarillo location at 5611 Gem Lake Rd. The chain already has a presence in Austin, Houston, and the Metroplex area.
