Sailing Information Evening.

As mentioned above, come along to the Club 19:30 Thursday 22nd September (yes, it's still on) to hear what is in store for this season of sailing.
The agenda for the evening will cover:
  - Eligibility
  - Sailing calendar and race series
  - Special regulations and boat safety audits
  - Race documents
  - Crew declarations
  - MOB and Solo Sailing requirements
  - Race Officer, assistance and Land Officer rosters
  - Mentor Program

Pre Season Boat Declaration.

As we move toward to the start of the new sailing season, please ensure you have completed all of the required declarations on our Man Overboard, Safety Audits, and Insurance to enable you to be eligible to enter club events.

Access to a short cut for that information can be found via the following link - https://hbyc.org.au/pre-season-declaration

Safety Category.

As required under our Pre Season Boat Declaration (see above), please ensure your have bought you boat up to the required Safety Category for the events that you would like to enter.

Most of our races are held 'on the flats' and require Safety Category 6, but if you intend to enter either the Two-Handed Series or the John Neilson Long Distance Series, please note that these races require that the boat complies to Category 5.

If you intend to sail events such as the Port Phillip Sea Pilots Race or intend to sail home directly after a Long Distance Race in the dark you will require a 5N rating.

Please refer to our website via the following link https://hbyc.org.au/as-safety-audit-forms

HBYC HISTORY

Sharing a slice of "RAGE" history by Ian Robo Robertson
Helen Brockman is a regular attendee to the free Community Low Instensity Fitness classes conducted every Monday and Wednesday mornings at the club. Over morning tea, following a rigorous (everything is relative) training session Helen asked about H74 Rage whom she noted had won the last Winter Pursuit race this year. She asked was it an Adams 10? Pictured below is a shot of Helen and husband Frank racing Rage in 1983 in a RYCV event. In the second photograph are husband Frank, Grant Botica (of Executive Decision fame) and John Bennett. HBYC Past Commodore Ashley Stephens was the next owner of Rage, then Robert Newbold and this year Tim Metherall became her new proud owner. "Looks better white than red Tim " Thank you Helen for sharing a piece of Rage history with us. Robo
