And I know
that sometimes
questions
are stories,
asking
to be told.
...
When you meet the monk
on the road to the city,
how will you greet him
without words and without silence?
...
"Greet him with an uppercut
and you will be the one
who understands zen."
reads the commentary.
...
Ha!
...
Every time I read that
I wonder,
why an uppercut
and not a hug?
And then I try
to list out
all the ways
I could greet a monk
without words or silence.
...
Ha!
...
When I catch my mind racing,
I stop.
(This is the good part.
The part I came for.)
For a moment
I can hear the wind
through my heart,
and I laugh,
and I wonder,
and I am not myself, or anything else,
I am just
Aware.
...
We can meet ourselves
over and over and over again
if we are willing
to wonder
where the wonder
is coming from.
This weekend, may you wonder and wonder and wonder again :)
With the utmost love,

"I didn’t know what to expect when I picked this book of poems up. I was delighted, surprised and inspired by the potent and magical truth woven into each page. I look forward to reading these often as a way of reMINDing me of the beauty inside and outside of all of us." -- David C.
