Why do I need to sit less?
During the isolation have you been:
  • sitting more?
  • watching more television?
  • sitting at the computer?
Sitting for long periods can increase the risk of health problems such as: obesity, diabetes, stroke and heart disease. There’s some easy things you can do to make everyday activities involve more movement and reduce sitting time.

Some easy ways to make everyday activities involve more movement and reduce the amount of time sitting are:
  • Stand or walk around the house while talking on the phone
  • Do household chores such as folding washing or ironing while watching television
  • Park your car one block away from your destination and walk the rest of the way
