Last Monday, 8/17, at this time, I was given Luna, a 20 lb 1.5 year old cocker spaniel, to foster for at least 6 months.
I had been submitting to adopt/ foster a dog so was mentally ready when this opportunity came about very quickly from a woman in my building who I met in our elevator several months ago! Luna's mother wants help with her pup while she gets back on her feet and I welcome the opportunity to love a dog, have a constant companion, and learn what it takes to be a good dog mom!
Luna has been at my feet for a week now, joining me for everything from bathroom breaks to outdoor classes. She is social, curious, and playful. Having a dog is more complex than I anticipated. I'm soaking up all the advice, books, and training classes!

I have been wanting to cycle to the top of Bear Mtn, a notorious climb (3,734 ft of elevation gain), since learning about it during my Ironman training last year.
It was more challenging than I expected to make the trip happen. Last year, my friend and I got lost. A few weeks ago, the top of the mtn was closed for storm cleaning. And this Saturday, my cycle friends went while I celebrated a friend's baby shower.
But! The starts aligned and yesterday, a friend and I met at 6:30am (after I walked Luna at 530am!) and after 45 miles of speedy cycling and 5 miles of excruciating climbing, I summited! Yahoo!
I'll post more about it on my Instagram if you want to connect on there :)
