The 1st of September means spring has arrived. The level of Building consents being seen remains at elevated levels, albeit that building activity in the commercial space is more muted. The latest statistics (from Department of Statistics) suggest strong residential building as well as alterations and additions etc. NZ seems to be following the trends evident in Australia and USA, where those who normally travel are spending more at home.

Tricoya
Tricoya, a revolutionary new product, think MDF, but way better. Tricoya is a product that can be used outdoors, in wet areas and even in ground contact. It is created using the same non-toxic Acetylation technology that produces Accoya, so the wood fibres are inert to the effects of climatic or atmospheric changes. As a result, it does not swell, distort or delaminate. In addition, it remains stable when exposed to thermal gain from the sun.
Tricoya can be cut, drilled and fixed without compromising the integrity of the board and comes with a 50 year warranty for above ground applications. We anticipate a wide range of uses but it will be Ideal for outdoor decorative rainscreens, which can be laser cut or CNC routered to almost any design, see the short video showing this in action below.

We also envisage a number of external applications such as façades, cabinetry, joinery, playground equipment soffit linings, landscaping and signage. It can be painted or stained any colour and can also be left uncoated to weather off naturally over time if desired.
A versatile and easy to use solution that has a very low carbon footprint for an endless range of applications. In stock in 1220x2440 sheet sizes and thicknesses of 6, 9, 12, 15 and 18mm.

Kwila - Still the mainstay of the premium decking market. We offer FSC 100% product, sourced and sold for 20 years. Yes, it bleeds but very hard to fault. Stands the test of having been used here in NZ for many many years. Some of the new entrants are not too flash, the old adage is buyer beware comes to mind.

Rebecca has a passion for timbers and she has completely immersed herself for the last 18 years in the timber industry. Rebecca has greatest respect for creative, innovative and amazing products true minds & joinery crafts that people produce, and now she feels privileged of being able to mix it all together at ITI Timspec.
She has been involved in various projects throughout New Zealand in the commercial, civil, domestic, historical renovations & rebuilds over the years. She loves to represent sustainably sourced and minimal carbon footprint products. Rebecca brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the team. Rebecca is based from our Christchurch office.
In her spare time she works hard to establish gardens on her 2.5 acre block in Springfield and enjoys sharing time with friends and family.

Liz Burt - Architectural Consultant, Auckland
|
|
Lis Burt joins Jonathan in the Architectural team in Auckland. Based in Auckland she will also travel to other regions to promote our portfolio of innovative timber building solutions. Lis has a fine pedigree in interior design having owned her own high-end Italian furniture business followed by many years in designer lighting with Eunice Taylor and then designer floor and wall finishes with Vidaspace.
She may already be known to many of you as she has worked with Architects, Specifiers and Interior Designers in all these roles. After a recent stint in Health design she is excited to return to the building industry and join what she would describe as “a well-established market leader” where she can continue to follow her passion and further her career.
