From the Director

Dear DRIMB Community--

I am excited for the upcoming DRIMB Virtual General Membership Meeting this upcoming Wednesday August 19th (see link below) This will be a wonderful opportunity for families within our program to hear from myself as well as our Music Booster Board about our upcoming year in DRHS Instrumental Music in all of our ensembles.

As we continue to plan for the 20-21 school year, we know many things are changing on a weekly, sometimes even daily/hourly basis, and that can make planning difficult. Sometimes the information we receive from the state/Jeffco Health Dept/Jeffco School District can force a plan to change rapidly, and I appreciate your patience in what sometimes feels like a game of tennis in terms of our plans!

Recently there has been information released by the district Athletic Department that seemed to affect the high school marching band rehearsals, and I am working on clarifying this information in order to plan our coming weeks. I will be communicating this information to students through the marching band google classroom and will have an update hopefully tomorrow after I finalize the plans with the DRHS administration.

Thank you for your wonderful support during all times of the year, but especially right now as we work together to kick off a challenging year together-- we can do it!

We will be holding a virtual DRIMB (DRHS Instrumental Music Boosters)
meeting for parents/guardians to attend on

Wednesday, August 19th from 7PM-8PM.

A portion of the meeting will be with Mr. Ford regarding the year in DRHS band/orchestra, and a portion of the meeting will be with the DRIMB board regarding the year in our parent/guardian organizaiton.

A Word From our Co-Presidents

Hello Music Families,

We hope everyone will join us for the first virtual Music Booster’s meeting this Wednesday, August 19^th. We look forward to getting to know some of our new members and reconnecting with existing members! This meeting is an opportunity to review and discuss how we as a group will continue to support our instrumental music program for this year and years to come. If you haven’t already, please feel free to submit any questions ahead of time through the form link (see above link).

We would like to thank everyone that completed the Bingo Survey sent out a few weeks ago, which assisted in making the decision to return to bingo. Bingo provides the majority of the income for our program. Hopefully you were able to review the financial information sent in last week’s email to give everyone a better idea of how much we currently rely on bingo to support our program and keep individual family’s fees to a minimum. While we have currently cut back on all expenses as much as possible, we still need to maintain this fundraiser for the future of the program. A few suggestions were made in the survey to stop working bingo for now and return to it at a later date. However, the current sessions we work at the bingo hall will go to other programs if we do not continue to work them, with no guarantee there will be any sessions available when/if we decide to return. We would like to maintain these spots for now to ensure the program can continue in years to come. In the meantime, we would also like to discuss and move forward with other fundraising options in case we need to drop a bingo session or if we have to quit bingo entirely.
We are excited to see everyone at the virtual meeting on Wednesday! We thank you for your patience and support with the constant changes we are all facing on a daily basis. We will continue to do our best to keep families updated and engaged in the program during these difficult times.
