THIS WEEK IN MARKET SQUARE

This week, enjoy the outdoors in the heart of Downtown. As Pittsburgh begins to reopen, we're bringing back safe ways to enjoy Market Square, including lunchtime music from local artists to enjoy while eating at outdoor tables in and around the park.

Remember that masks are required, and to BYOM (bring your own mat)! Wednesday's class, held from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m., will be taught by Andrea Valerino from Union Fitness.

THURSDAY, AUGUST 20
The Market Square Farmers Market continues this Thursday, August 20 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Shop fresh, locally-grown produce, small-batch foods, and enjoy live entertainment. SUPPORTING LOCAL BUSINESSES DURING NATIONAL BLACK BUSINESS MONTH

August is National Black Business Month, and there’s no better way to support Black-owned businesses than by shopping locally.

In Downtown, find delicious and homemade baked goods at Cobbler World, popular at farmers markets around the city serving everything from cheesecakes and cobblers to pies and more. With a storefront on Penn Avenue by the Convention Center, you can also order online for delivery via Instagram

Or, get a lunch-time workout in with Clark Fit Boxing and Fitness, offering popular classes and individual sessions in a gym that overlooks Market Square (pictured above).

SUPPORT THE ARTS IN DOWNTOWN WITH THE CULTURAL TRUST'S CRITICAL FUND

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust faces a critical financial situation. This health crisis has wreaked havoc on the arts and culture in our country and in our city. Since mid-March, the Trust has been forced to cancel more than 4,000 performances and events, bringing theaters, galleries, and arts events to a halt.

If you're in a place to help out, you can support the important work of the Cultural Trust through a donation to their Critical Fund. Fueled by a $50,000 match unlocked by their fundraising Advisory Boards, your gift will go further to ensuring a vibrant return to Downtown's arts and culture.
