This Friday, August 21, the Class of 2022 will participate in the Joyce Watson Leadership Orientation Seminar. Due to concerns regarding COVID-19, this seminar will be held virtually. Class members will have the opportunity to learn more about the program, staff, and their classmates. Former United States Secretary of Agriculture, Thomas J. Vilsack, will be speaking to the class about "The Critical Need for Leadership in Rural America. IALF Founder, Joyce Watson (pictured above) will also address the class, along with IALF Board of Directors members Dan Kelley (IALP '84) and Tami Craig-Schilling.

Aaron Curtis (IALP '04), Commodity Risk Consultant for Mid-Co Commodities, gives an optimistic update on the 2020 harvest. You can read Aaron's expectations for the harvest here.

Chris Eckert (IALP '04), President of Eckert's Inc., shares how the Eckert's Country Store and Farms will be conducting business this fall. He notes that while many of the activities they typically offer guests will be cancelled this year, they still expect to offer U-pick apples and pumpkins.
