Dear COAEYC member,
It is the time of year in which we are seeking individuals interested in serving on our COAEYC board. If you are interested in promoting high-quality early learning for all children and advancing diverse, dynamic early childhood professionals who care for, educate and work on behalf of young children throughout Colorado, we WANT YOU. COAEYC is currently filling three board positions: one student, one teacher, and one general.
REQUIREMENTS: Be a member of COAEYC by September 11th (for those members who are added to the slate for the election).
TERM: The length of service for this in-kind position will be two years beginning October 1, 2020.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
This is a working Board. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Actively participating in organizational planning and decision-making with sound and informed judgments

Serve on a state membership committee in a liaison/leadership role

Attend monthly on-line board meetings or committee meetings and quarterly in-person board meetings

Participate in a mandatory 3-4 day board training in October

Online state of CO non-profit training
-
Annual board member review
-
Contribute financially, as you are able, annually

It is estimated that each board member will spend approximately 15 hours each month on board meetings, projects, and activities.
PROCESS:
The COAEYC Nominations Committee will accept applications through September 4th. A slate created from the eligible applications will be presented to COAEYC members and voting will begin on September 11th. Please note, submitting an application will not guarantee a spot on the slate. Voting will close on September 25th. Results will be announced on September 30th and the new board members will start their terms October 1st. Current COAEYC members in good standing may vote for one candidate for each of the three positions.
