Autumn Arrives

Hello Friends!
Just a few days ago, the season of Autumn arrived.  Just in time, cooler weather, changing leaves, and all the fall festivities (even amidst pandemic protocols and protections) have also arrived.  I don't know about you; but I feel the changes this year more profoundly than usual.  I felt it this summer and, again, this fall, as we transition to autumn.  For me this has been a tremendous blessing as we have been experiencing this exceptional year.  It has allowed me greater time to celebrate and take in the beauty of life and all that is around us.  I hope you, too, are enjoying the beauty all around us.

In these days, I am also ever grateful for the ability to work in the field that I do.  Massage, sound therapy, reiki, natural health, and more are so important, now more than ever.  Click here to make your next appointment.  We have worked hard to create a safe space, informed by COVID, encircled in unconditional love and care, and always striving to offer you the best service we can give.

Finally, please consider joining me for a speial birthday bash sound bath meditation celebration.
I am inviting you to join me on my birthday for this special event. The exchange is $25 and half of that will be donated to Ele's Place - Ann Arbor to support the amazing work they do to support grieving kids. Please consider joining me for this sound bath celebration and help me give back to this awesome organization.

As always, I feel blessed to your therapist, practitioner, and friend.
Peace - r

UPDATES...
Many of you have recently read that Facebook has new guidelines for music during Facebook Lives and in posts.  These rules have been in place for several months and are intended to protect those who hold music copyright and those who have a fiscal interest in selling, producing, and performing copyrighted music.  These are wise provisions to protect those who make a living in this way.

Facebook has also recently released that on October 1, their terms of service will update and if you infringe on rules, such as these music rules, posts can be removed or, in most severe of situations, your account disabled or deleted.

As someone who has a lot invested in connecting with people via social media this has been a lot to process.  After much research and intentional thought, I have made a few decisions that will affect how I share future sound offerings with you.

ANNOUNCING…. Please see the info graphic attached to this post for how to connect with me on YouTube for my upcoming posts.

Beginning on October 1, the following regular video features will now be posted to YouTube only:

- Wednesday “Take a Break” Videos
- Weekly (15 minute) Sound Bath Meditations (upcoming - Autumn Reflections and Thankful Thursdays)

As I intend to continue to use Facebook, I will still make a regular Facebook and Instagram post when each of these videos goes live on YouTube.  I will also post a direct link to the video as the first comment to each post.  So, all you will have to do is keep an eye out for those posts and make one extra click on the first comment to get to the video.

One way you can assure that you will continue to see my videos is to subscribe to my YouTube channel and click the bell to get notifications when I post a video.  I am not a full time YouTuber and don’t get any kick back from YouTube; but this is one way we can and will stay connected.

Unfortunately, I will no longer be posting full-length sound bath meditations on social media after October 1 and I am considering the best and most creative options for bringing those to you while we are still in this time of public health crisis.  Ideally, and eventually, we will return to live and in-person events.  I do have creative and fun ideas for continuing to offer virtual options once we return and I will share more on that when we get to that point.

It is not my understanding that Facebook will be enacting these changes retroactively.  So, my intention is to leave all of my previously posted videos up on Facebook as a resource to you.

I will continue to post informative Facebook lives about topics on sound therapy and natural health, massage, etc. within Facebook’s guidelines.  So, stay tuned for more information in that regard.  I am thrilled to be working on some exciting new “Rob on the Road” segments, a Facebook live about what to do BETWEEN massage appointments, more cooking tips and nutrition information, and much much more…

In this extra-ordinary year, we are facing a lot of change, upheaval, and loss.  I am choosing to see this as an opportunity to try something in a new way and I look forward to walking that journey together.

As always, many of my offerings are made on a donation based model.  If you feel so inclined to support my work by way of a heart-centered donation, I will humbly receive them by way of PayPal by clicking here.

I am thrilled to be bring "Body, Mind, Spirit", a series of mindful experiences,
from First Presbyterian Church, Ann Arbor to you every third Tuesday of the month at 7 pm on Facebook and YouTube.

This series of experiences will be like a mini retreat or workshop to allow you the opportunity to center yourself through gentle activities, focused meditation on poetry and scripture, and the soothing tones of singing bowls, gongs, and other instruments. Our hope is that through providing these opportunities you will have a chance to explore a new way of connecting your spirituality to your everyday life through these tools and practices.

Eating Right

I have a confession to make...  I LOVE pickles.  When I was a kid, I'd eat so many pickles, that I'd get a full on stomach ache.  As an adult, our refrigerator is never without a jar (or two or three) of pickles.  I prefer dill pickles; but sweet pickles, bread and butter pickles... any pickles will do.

This summer, as we branched out into several cooking adventures, we made our first batch of pickled red onions.  Guess what?  I love pickled red onions as much as I love pickled... pickles...  :)  We add them to salads, sandwiches, put them on crackers, and much, much, more.  They even make great gifts.  The best part is, it is super easy!  Check out the recipe below.

Pickled Red Onions Recipe

INGREDIENTS
  • 3 medium red onions, halved and thinly sliced
  • 3 large cloves garlic, peeled and cut in half lengthwise
  • 3 (1/8 inch thick) slices fresh ginger
  • ¾ teaspoon multicolored peppercorns
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cup distilled white vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons real maple syrup
  • 3 teaspoons kosher salt
DIRECTIONS
  • Step 1: Divide sliced onions, garlic halves, ginger slices, and peppercorns among 3 pint-sized jars.
  • Step 2:  Combine water, apple cider vinegar, distilled vinegar, maple syrup, and salt in a saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and ladle vinegar mixture into each jar. Gently press down on onions with a spoon until they are submerged. Allow to sit, uncovered, until liquid is room temperature, about 30 minutes, then cover and store in the refrigerator.
From everyone at 7 Notes Natural Health,
we wish you a very safe and happy start to Autumn
