More Fall Cleaning and Setting in Roots

Hello Friends!

Today Scott and I did actual fall cleaning.  We worked together, then we took a "divide and conquer" attitude and we did some serious, deep cleaning in and around our house.  We even moved the fridge and cleaned back there...  We were serious!

As I was working in the yard, doing some "fall cleaning", I had this immense sense of space.  We've nearly cleared everything out of the garden and I am cutting back some of the flowering plants.  In one respect I was a bit sad by the empty space that once was full of thriving, beautiful flowers and vegetables; but then, as I was researching pruning advice, I was reminded that the cutting back process gives the plant the opportunity to focus on root growth.

Wow!  Isn't that a beautiful way to view the work we are doing?  Cutting back, cleaning up, clearing out, making space... so that we can focus on laying down deeper, more solid roots.  Let that settle in for a moment... then, check out my offerings...  Make an appointment for a massage, sound therapy, Reiki, or natural health appointment and allow me to assist you in this time of letting go and laying down deep roots.

Peace - r

Eating Right

I have a complicated diet...  I don't eat red meat or pork.  I know, it's the "other white meat"; but I don't.  Over this time of the pandemic, we have enjoyed cooking for ourselves.  We have taken physical distancing and "staying home to stay safe" very seriously and that means we have cooked 99% of our own food.  I think I can count on one hand the number of times we have, in an effort to support local, eaten carry out.

Also, as part of our cooking adventures, we have challenged ourselves to eat more fruits and vegetables.  This includes a challenge to eat 2 vegan meals per week.  One of my favorite vegan meals is a simple and easy Veggie Stew.  We simply add all of our favorite veggies to a pot with filtered water, boil, and enjoy.  Sometimes we eat it over rice, other times we eat it over rice noodles, still other times we eat it as a thick soup.  Check out the recipe below
.
