Join us this Saturday, August 22nd at 11 am to defend the USPS and our democracy!
Bring a mask, plan to stay socially distant, and raise your voice at the Davis Post office, 2020 5th St (the corner of Pole Line and 5th). We demand LeJoy's resignation, and we support postal workers and their unions as they resist the dismantling of our postal service. We respond to the call for action from Move On, Indivisible, NAACP, Rural Organizing, Working Families Party, SEIU, the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights.
On June 16, Trump installed a campaign megadonor, Louis DeJoy, as the new postmaster general. In just two months, Postmaster General DeJoy has reassigned or displaced dozens of postal executives. DeJoy has called for hiring freezes, slashed hours, and created long delays, even stopping delivery in some places. Meanwhile, it has come to light that DeJoy had a multimillion-dollar stake in the USPS’s competitors.
In his attempt to sabotage vote-by-mail ballots in November, Trump is willing to hit vulnerable populations across the country who rely on the USPS for essential goods and services.
We can't let this happen! We're standing against this anti-democratic blow to our essential services. You can register for the Saturday event here, or see it on Facebook or the Indivisible Yolo calendar.
